Frequently asked questions
Do you work with clients outside France?
Yes. Most clients are based outside France when they start their project.
This includes international buyers, as well as people living in large cities who are planning a move to rural France.
There is no geographic limitation in principle. Location mainly affects practical aspects such as time zones or, in rare cases, the delivery of printed materials.
Does it matter if I’m not nearby?
No. Services can be handled remotely without any issue.
That said, in-person meetings are also part of the services when relevant and feasible. Some clients prefer to meet on site or in person at certain stages, while others work entirely remotely.
Both approaches are possible, depending on the situation.
Are there any limitations depending on where I live?
In rare cases, yes.
Limitations are usually practical rather than conceptual and may relate to payment methods, logistics, or shipping to certain countries. In some cases, external constraints (regulatory, political, or technical) may also apply.
If anything is affected by your location, this is clarified upfront.
How do I get in touch if I have a question?
You can get in touch via the contact form or by email.
If your question is service-related, unclear, or requires context, a call can be scheduled to discuss it properly rather than trying to resolve everything by email.
Can I ask questions before choosing a service?
Yes.
It’s common for people to reach out because they are unsure what kind of support they need, or whether a service is relevant at all. Asking questions before committing is entirely normal.
What happens when I contact you for the first time?
In most cases, we start with an orientation call.
This is a practical discussion to understand where you are in your project, what you already know, and what you’re currently missing. It’s about clarifying needs, not selling a predefined service.
Is there always an initial call before starting any work?
Yes.
Before any paid service begins, needs and scope are clarified together. Invoicing and pricing are discussed once it’s clear what kind of support makes sense. This avoids misunderstandings and ensures expectations are aligned.
How are services delivered if I’m not on site?
Services are delivered through a mix of video calls, phone calls, email, and written feedback.
Tools such as Zoom or Teams are used depending on what is most convenient. Follow-up is often provided in writing so you have clear references afterwards.
Can your services be adapted to my specific situation?
Yes.
Services are designed to adapt to real situations rather than rigid templates. The focus is always on what is actually useful for your project, even if that means adjusting scope or format.
Is it possible to focus on just one part of the process?
Yes.
Some clients only need support on a specific aspect — for example understanding a particular step, reviewing documents, clarifying risks, or helping with decision-making. There is no obligation to cover the entire process.
Can services be combined or adjusted over time?
Yes.
It’s common to start with a limited scope and adjust as the project evolves. Services can be combined, extended, or refocused if new questions arise later.
In what languages are the guides and services available?
Guides and services are available in English, French, and Dutch.
Calls can be conducted in any of these languages, depending on what you are most comfortable with.
Are printed versions available?
Yes.
Printed versions can be ordered via the website. Any additional cost reflects printing and delivery only. The digital version is always included.
Do you have financial ties to agencies or service providers you recommend?
I work independently, and advice is not influenced by financial considerations.
I do collaborate with partners — such as agencies or service providers — that I trust based on experience and client feedback. In some cases, partnerships may include compensation or referral arrangements, but this is never hidden and can always be discussed openly.
Recommendations are made because they make sense for the project, not because of financial arrangements.
How is invoicing handled for services?
Pricing is discussed after the initial orientation call, once the scope of the service is clear.
There are no surprise invoices. You know in advance what the service covers and how it is billed.
Do you handle property searches or transactions?
No.
The focus is on consultancy, preparation, and guidance rather than handling transactions or acting as an intermediary.
Do you use AI as part of your work?
Yes, as a tool.
AI is used to assist with drafting, structuring content, language clarity, scripts, and occasionally voiceovers or visuals. Ideas, experience, judgement, and final responsibility remain entirely mine.
All content is reviewed and checked against reliable sources before publication.
How do you make sure the information you provide is reliable?
Information is based on practical experience, ongoing work with buyers and sellers, exchanges with partners and professionals, and verification against reliable sources, including official or institutional ones when relevant.
The aim is to provide context, clarity, and perspective grounded in real-world experience.
What is your role when giving advice?
My role is to help you understand situations, options, and risks so you can make better-informed decisions.
Final decisions always remain yours. The objective is clarity, not telling you what to do.
Why specialise in rural France?
Rural France functions very differently from large cities, both structurally and culturally.
Property searches, agency practices, negotiation dynamics, availability of information, local administration, and even the rhythm of transactions can differ significantly. The types of properties involved are also different: older buildings, agricultural properties, renovation projects, multi-building estates, or homes with land often require a different approach than urban apartments or turnkey houses.
Clients looking at rural areas also tend to have very specific projects — lifestyle changes, relocations, restoration plans, long-term investment in land or heritage properties — which come with different questions and risks.
This focus is not about excluding cities, but about recognising that rural property projects often require a distinct perspective and preparation.

Not every situation fits neatly into a page or a guide. If something isn’t clear, or you’re unsure whether a service is relevant, you can ask before taking any further step.
